The Whole Note
"Our lives weren't supposed to turn out this way, Archer. Yours... mine. But it's made us better people. Smooth seas don't make good sailors," she told him as her hand drifted away from his like a slowly sailing ship on the horizon.
What if you were to wake from a coma to find the people closest to you had passed away? This is what happens to Archer Brishon, a brilliant pianist who wakes from a dream world to find out he is the lone survivor of a tragic accident that claimed the life of his fiancé. Archer comes back to a world he no longer recognizes and is plagued by memories of the last moments with his musically talented fiancée. Terrible heartbreak aside, he's haunted further by the dream that woke him from his coma. No longer able to emotionally hold his head above water and vowing to never again play music, Archer makes plans to sail the world to escape his unfortunate reality. However, before setting sail, he finds himself face-to-face with the reality he's trying to escape — a chance meeting with a violinist named, Melody.
Melody is a brilliant violinist studying at the school of Juilliard who never expected to meet Archer Brishon — a man she can't seem to pull herself away from even in the wake of her coming marriage. The further she attempts to distance herself, the harder she finds it to breathe. Unknown to both Archer and Melody is how the universe tethered them before their time together had ever begun.
The coincidence of their meeting is more than either of them ever dreamed of; contradicting the pain in Archer's shattered heart and breathing new life back into Melody.
