Unfailing Love

1 Corinthians 13 lays the foundation for what Love is. But what is unfailing love? Unfailing love is loyal love.

Loyal love is love that sticks. It is a love that attaches itself to a person or thing until the purpose has been fulfilled. Loyal love does not give up.

At the 2019 International Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses', titled, Love Never Fails, loyal love was evidently demonstrated.

Never before in human history has unfailing love needed to be demonstrated more than now. In a world that is so divided on everything, showing love for neighbor is paramount in blocking out all the hatred.

To love your neighbor has become an option replaced by rage and unkindness. Paul stated that the Whole law was to love God, but the second like it, he said is this, "You must love your neighbor as yourself." So, you cannot have a love for God if you do not have love for neighbor. That love, however, must be the unfailing kind. Jesus said to forgive up to seventy-seven times. It meant never stop forgiving. People will always disappoint us in some way. It takes more energy on our part to be angry with them. Harboring resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for another person to feel the effects. It may seem hard to forgive, though. But why? It is because of the human imperfection that has allowed us all to become prideful. To be forgiving means we must swallow our pride and replace it with humility. It is said that pride is so distasteful that even the very prideful hate pride.

Forgive those who hurt us. Forgive the small offense, to the large offense. Leave the judging to the Creator. Why would anyone want the responsibility of judging others?

Remember: Love Never Fails!
